I have the sudden urge to write a dozen au fics with Lance and Allura happy together on earth
great now i have a craving for an a/l au where they pretty much fix all the dead trees left by that galra invasion and plant juniberry flowers along the way and just. fix the earth. and be disgustingly adorable and fluffy. a literal fix it fic.
please do it
🙏🙏🙏🙏
jeez some of y’all need to stop pretending that Allurance shippers somehow “won” this season or that we’re absolutely thrilled about everything that happened. sure we got some canon shipping moments, but don’t think for a second that we’re not just as heartbroken over Allura’s death as you are. what good is it to get some canon confirmation when it’s ripped to shreds almost instantly. I’m pretty sure that most Allurance shippers (at least I would) would happily trade any canon moments of our ship in exchange for Allura being alive.
Keith and Acxa in Season 8
After the backlash from Season 7, it’s certain they deleted Keith and Acxa scenes in Season 8 and revised their statements to warrior bond instead. This would explain people’s observation about the lack of interaction in S8 between them, even after Acxa significantly appears in the cemetery at the end of S7. Logically, it is easier to delete scenes than add them. Kacxa is the only ship with romantic subtext where a warrior bond transforms to love. Kacxa has survived and has been left untouched despite our fears of Acxa betraying Keith in Season 8. This is shown in the end sequence where Keith and Acxa are working close together in a humanitarian agency. It is implied that they eventually become romantic given the journey of their characters and that the narrative ensured they are in each other’s life cementing their bond and feelings growing more intimate. Kacxa shipping is the ray of light in the dark abyss that is Season 8.
“don’t give up hope! klance can still happen!!” i…….. honey………….. the show is over.
Some klancers really out here stretching this shit out
My ancestors are smiling at me @staff. Can you say the same?
“Captain, what should we do? He’s not an NSFW artist.”
“Forget the list. He goes to the block.“
“By your orders captain… I’m sorry we’ll make sure your remains are returned to Deviant Art.“

As far as I know, they didn’t call back any of the VAs for the epilogue (since it was basically a audio-less slideshow that Lauren & JDS had Kihyun Ryu put together). Jun mentioned in her tweets that she saw the final viewing of VLD (before sudden epilogue slapped on in September/November) & (now deleted) made quite a few tweets about how shocked & upset she was after finding it out from the sheith fans who watched the premiere.
Bex even liked the leaks on instagram at one point - probably mistaking them for fanart. I think she might have mixed feelings about this considering that she fought with Dreamworks higher ups for about 1.5 years just to get Shadam bumped up to boyfriends & not just “roommates” only for everyone to slam her of “not doing enough” or “being a bad lesbian”.
And then suddenly Dreamworks just goes “throw in a gay wedding at the end for that last second gay representation! Everything you fought for, struggled for & were so proud of fighting for was ABSOLUTELY POINTLESS.”
Ouch.
That type of epilogue might work for Paranorman since it was building off the whole jokey stereotype of the sister trying to go after the jock, but it really messes with the whole “Shiro splitting up with Adam because he values certain things over relationships & also, he’s just really bad at relationships (Word of God for that second part)”.
It doesn’t really fit here. It’s a win for the gay community (kind of) but, it’s a win that leaves a really bad taste in your mouth.
To some people, the intentions don’t matter, just the results. So let’s just let bygones be bygones about the epilogue.
Even if it is pretty fucking terrible.
Zeth: “kiss the girl, you fool”
Ezor: “can you feel the love tonight?? Oh, wait, that’s just smell of burning flesh”
Zeth: “you advised to send them on a hostile alien planet as a date”
Ezor: “but they look so happy when they fight together”

There are many good reasons to criticize the vld crew, but as the Geekdad article put it (to paraphrase):
It’s not the VLD crew that queerbaited, it was Dreamworks.
The VLD staff has EXPLICITLY stated over & over again that they do not control the top decisions OR the marketing.
Sheith shirts? Dreamworks.
Plastering Adam’s picture all over Netflix with rainbow colored banners for Shiro (with Keith imposed)? Dreamworks (and Netflix).
Overhyping Shadam as gay rep & slapping on that epilogue (which many, MANY staff members seemed to be totally unaware of - from Jun, the Sheith shipping wife of one of the animators who worked on the show to the fucking voice actors).
They’re just turning on the staff because they’re the easiest targets & the easiest ones to hurt.
Dreamworks doesn’t care & won’t ever care. The Sheiths know this, but they’re just being immature dicks about it.
This was always just a thinly veiled ship war. The arguments about how “no sheith would EVER ship pre-kerb sheith”, how “no sheith would ever write problematic awful fiction” & how sheith was “purer & less problematic than klance” were all big red flags as to how people REALLY felt about their ships.
When a friend asked a representative from one of the largest global toy and media companies if they would include queer characters in their storylines, they responded that they would happily be the second brand to introduce a queer character into a children’s property, but they would not be the first.

You and me both. This isn’t something JDS or LM would sign off on in good faith/full support
